“Jaw-dropping, like being transported into another world,” is how this sensational vocal performance artist has been described.
Geneviève Côté is a Canadian performer from Montreal, Quebec, who has gained international recognition for her highly unusual vocal talent that combines singing, sound effects, and sound imitation.
From oceans, whale songs and galloping horses to wolves howling, blowing wind and rain, Côté blends these sounds into an emotionally charged musical performance.
Côté is currently in South Africa where she performed at the glittering Jetour PHEV launch at the Sunbet Arena last Tuesday night, wowing the audience with her deeply moving soundscapes showcase. This marked her first visit to South Africa and her first-ever performance at a product launch, making it a world first for Jetour.
Côté began her career in the Quebec entertainment scene, developing her unique vocal performance style outside the traditional path taken by most recording artists. She gained global acclaim through talent competitions including Canada’s Got Talent in 2023, where she received a Golden Buzzer, reaching the finals, as well as appearances on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.
She also competed on La France a un incroyable talent, where she once again earned a Golden Buzzer and advanced to the semi-finals. These viral performances have earned her international recognition.
Tuesday night saw SUV brand Jetour launch their hybrid plug-in models, the T1 and T2 i-DM, at a high-profile event, where Côté’s performance elevated the event from a traditional product launch into a sensory experience that blended innovation, storytelling and entertainment.
Jetour positions itself as more than just an automotive brand, increasingly leaning into its “Travel+” lifestyle philosophy - an enabler of a broader lifestyle experience centred on travel, exploration and shared moments.
Côté’s presence at the Jetour i-DM launch fitted perfectly with this brand philosophy that blends culture, entertainment, and everyday living. Jetour’s connection to music has been established for some time, with British-Norwegian DJ and producer Alan Walker last year creating a brand theme called “Forever Young” for the brand.
